Anakapalli Police Seize Ganja, Destroy Over 20,000 kg in Anti-Narcotics Operations
In Anakapalli district, police seized 213 kg of ganja and arrested five individuals linked to an international smuggling network, including a suspect with prior narcotics convictions in Sri Lanka. Separately, authorities destroyed over 20,876 kg of ganja worth more than 20 crore, marking the elimination of ganja cultivation in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. Officials highlighted ongoing efforts combining law enforcement, drone surveillance, community outreach, and promotion of alternative crops to combat narcotics trafficking and cultivation in the region.
