
Authorities in Maharashtra have arrested six individuals, including Nashik-based dentist Dr. Amol Patil, in connection with an illegal egg trafficking racket involving over 500 women. Patil, linked to the Malati IVF Centre registered in his wife's name, is accused of facilitating surrogate mother contracts and repeated egg donations using forged identity documents. Police seized medicines worth over ₹15 lakh and are conducting raids across multiple districts to apprehend the alleged mastermind, who remains at large. Investigations revealed exploitation of economically vulnerable women paid ₹25,000–30,000 per donation.
