Maharashtra police have arrested six individuals, including Nashik-based dentist Dr Amol Patil, in connection with an alleged interstate human egg trafficking and illegal surrogacy racket. The racket reportedly involved exploiting over 500 women, using forged documents to repeatedly procure eggs, with donors paid between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000. Authorities have sealed the Malti IVF Centre in Nashik, registered in Patil's wife's name, and formed an inquiry committee. Investigations continue to identify the racket's mastermind and possible international links.
