Second Person Arrested in Connection with Manipur Fuel Station Bomb Explosion

Security forces in Manipur have arrested a second individual linked to a bomb explosion at Elidas Fuel Station in Bishnupur district on January 8, 2026. Pukhrambam Bimol Meitei, 41, was detained from Imphal West district with weapons including an SMG carbine, pistol, hand grenades, and detonators. Earlier, Hijam Manichandra Singh, 35, a member of the banned Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL), part of the Group of Five (G-5) alliance, was arrested for involvement in the attack, which led to a temporary closure of fuel stations in the region.
