The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in Bhopal has registered a case against an individual for allegedly misusing a power of attorney after the land owner's death. A complaint alleged that Maniraj Singh, who held power of attorney for land in Nathuram-Barkhera, continued to sell plots after the owner, Achal Singh Mewada, passed away in 2022, invalidating the power of attorney. Police found evidence of a criminal conspiracy and have filed charges under sections of cheating and conspiracy.
