Visakhapatnam reported an overall 11.78% drop in crimes in 2025 compared to the previous year, according to Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi. While murders increased from 24 to 35, cases of attempt to murder, rape, and harassment against women saw significant declines. House break-ins and robberies also decreased. Stolen property worth over ₹10.59 crore was recovered. Road accidents slightly decreased in number but resulted in a similar number of fatalities, with 349 deaths in 2025.
