
Seven years after his conviction for journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati's murder, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's counsel challenged the prosecution's ballistic evidence before the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The defence argued that the bullet recovered during the postmortem remained sealed until opened in court, questioning how it was examined earlier by the Forensic Science Laboratory. The prosecution stated that ballistic expert signatures appeared only after opening the sealed container, a point contested by the defence.
