In Assam's Cachar district, a 17-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old man who threatened her with an acid attack. The accused reportedly took photos and videos of the victim, which he has since uploaded online, causing the victim severe psychological distress and leading her to attempt suicide. Police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and POCSO Act. The accused is currently absconding, and authorities are tracking his digital footprint. The victim's family is demanding his swift arrest and a fast-track trial.
