A 48-year-old shopkeeper, Shankar Lal Garg, died after falling into an open roadside drain in Ghaziabad late Sunday night. He was found unconscious near his scooter, which had its headlights on, and was rushed to MMG Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Preliminary investigations suggest that a plastic bucket he was carrying may have caused him to lose balance and fall. CCTV footage showed no evidence of a collision, and the family did not file a police complaint or request an autopsy. Further investigation is ongoing.
