
In Assam's Kamrup (Metropolitan) district, a 35-year-old man, Farjul Alom, was beaten to death by resort employees who suspected him of theft. Alom had reportedly gone to the resort seeking shelter. Police were informed, and Alom was taken into custody and admitted to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Seven resort employees have been apprehended, and an investigation is ongoing under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to mob lynching and grievous hurt.
