The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) dismantled a pan-India darknet drug trafficking network named 'Team Kalki' active since January 2025. The network, operated by Anurag Thakur and Vikas Rathi—both previously jailed for drug offenses—used encrypted platforms like the dark web forum Dread and the Session messaging app to distribute over 1,000 consignments of LSD, MDMA, charas, amphetamines, and liquid MDMA. Authorities seized drugs valued at approximately Rs 5 crore, sourced from international vendors in the Netherlands, Poland, and Germany. The group employed methods such as dead drops and courier services to evade detection during nationwide deliveries.
