The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has ordered the Tamil Nadu government to pay ₹9 lakh in compensation to a POCSO survivor. The survivor was sexually assaulted in 2022 by her neighbor and friends. The SHRC directed that the compensation be collected from police personnel who failed to investigate the case properly. The commission also recommended a re-investigation by a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
