Prime Accused in AAP Sarpanch Murder Dies After Police Encounter in Amritsar

Sukhraj Singh alias Gunga, a prime accused in the 2024 murder of AAP sarpanch Jarmal Singh and linked to the Prabh Dasuwal gang, died from bullet injuries after a police encounter in Amritsar. During a recovery operation, two unidentified assailants opened fire to free him, injuring a constable and damaging a police vehicle. Amid the chaos, Singh attempted to snatch a service pistol, leading to a scuffle in which he was shot. Police have launched a manhunt for the attackers and arrested several others for logistical support.
