Three medical professionals, including a doctor, nurse, and ward attendant, have been suspended from Kanpur's GSVM Medical College following a blunder where a living patient was mistakenly declared dead. The Uttar Pradesh government ordered the suspension and formed a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the incident, which occurred in the medicine department. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak condemned the act as a "gross display of insensitivity" and vowed strict action against those found guilty, emphasizing that patient safety and dignity are paramount.
