A 250-page chargesheet was filed against Dr. Rameezuddin Nayak, a former KGMU resident, accusing him of rape, criminal intimidation, and forced religious conversion under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Uttar Pradesh's Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021. His parents and a co-accused nikah witness face charges of aiding and abetting. The case, registered in December after a junior doctor alleged sexual exploitation and forced abortion, also involves investigation of a Pilibhit cleric's role. Statements from another woman doctor alleging pressured conversion were recorded during the probe.
