Mumbai police have registered a case against Bhagwan Kaskar, a former accountant at Excel Entertainment, for allegedly embezzling ₹46.24 lakh in Goods and Services Tax (GST) funds. Kaskar was entrusted by CEO Vishal Ramchandani to handle his personal GST payments from 2017. The fraud was discovered in 2024 when internal review showed only ₹9.75 lakh of the approximately ₹56 lakh transferred by Ramchandani had been deposited. Kaskar reportedly confessed to misappropriating the funds for personal use, and the total tax liability, including penalties, has now risen to over ₹65 lakh.
