Retired Railway Employee Arrested for Murder and Burning of Live-in Partner's Body in Jhansi

In Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, retired railway employee Ram Singh Parihar (63) was arrested for allegedly murdering his live-in partner, Preeti Raikwar (32), by hacking her with an axe on January 8. Preeti, who was married with three children, had been living with Parihar for about a decade. Following disputes over money and suspicions of her relationship with another man, Parihar reportedly killed her, then burnt her body inside a large blue trunk with help from his second wife and son. The crime was uncovered after a loader driver grew suspicious while assisting in disposing of the trunk containing burnt remains. Police are conducting further investigations, including DNA tests, and have charged the accused and accomplices with multiple offenses.
