A Kerala court acquitted all 20 accused in the 2012 murder of ABVP activist Vishal. The Mavelikkara Additional Sessions Court found the prosecution failed to prove charges beyond reasonable doubt. Vishal was allegedly stabbed by Campus Front activists during a college event. The prosecution stated they will appeal the verdict in the High Court, a move supported by the ABVP, which expressed disappointment. Some witnesses reportedly changed their statements during the trial, which was initially handled by local police before being transferred to the Crime Branch.
