Delhi Reports 807 Missing Persons in First Half of January 2026, Majority Women and Minors

Delhi Police data shows that 807 people were reported missing in the first 15 days of 2026, averaging 54 cases daily. Women and girls accounted for nearly two-thirds of these cases, with minors comprising 191 reports, predominantly teenage girls. Authorities have traced 235 individuals, leaving 572 untraced. The trend reflects a long-term rise in missing persons in Delhi, with over 24,500 cases in 2025 and around 52,000 unresolved over the past decade. Political leaders have expressed concern over public safety and policing effectiveness.
