Three Drug Peddlers Arrested in Separate Operations in Jammu and Kashmir

Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested in separate operations in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur and Rajouri districts. Rakesh Kumar, who had evaded arrest for over two years after fleeing a checkpoint on October 12, 2023, was caught in Udhampur with 105.06 kg of poppy straw recovered from his abandoned vehicle. In Rajouri, Tariq Mehmood and Shoket Nazir were arrested after police found 12 grams of heroin in their car. Cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act have been registered, with investigations ongoing.
