UP Court Sentences Father and Son to Life for 2018 Murder Case

A court in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, sentenced Virendra Singh and his son Layak Singh to life imprisonment for the 2018 murder of villager Ramesh Yadav. The court also fined each Rs 25,000. Two others, including Virendra's brother Malti and his son Jandail, were acquitted. The case was filed based on a complaint by Ramesh Yadav's son under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
