Gold Ornaments Worth Rs 2 Crore Stolen from Kerala's Kowdiar Palace

Gold ornaments and precious gems worth approximately Rs 2 crore were stolen from Kerala's Kowdiar Palace, the residence of the Travancore royal family, between October and November 2025. The theft, involving antique jewellery including pieces engraved with Lord Padmanabha's image, was reported by senior royal member Aswathi Thirunal Gauri Lakshmi Bayi after an internal search failed to locate the items. The Peroorkada police have registered a case and are investigating, reviewing CCTV footage and questioning palace staff.
