Two Women Arrested in Mumbai for Alleged Illegal Egg Donation Racket

Mumbai police arrested two women, Sunoti Belel and Seema Vinzarat, at the Mumbai airport for allegedly running an illegal egg donation racket from Thane. Belel and an absconding associate reportedly supplied unmarried women as egg donors to fertility centers in India and abroad by forging documents to show them as married, violating the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021. Vinzarat admitted to selling her eggs in multiple countries, falsely declaring her marital status. Authorities are investigating the extent of the racket.
