Delhi Sees Rise in Burglary and Attempt to Murder Cases in 2024; Murder Rates Stable

Delhi experienced a notable rise in burglary cases in 2024, with 8,965 incidents reported, marking a 29.6% increase from 2023 and continuing a multi-year upward trend. Attempt to murder cases also grew by approximately 18.6%, reaching 898 cases. In contrast, murder figures remained relatively stable, with a slight decline to 504 cases in 2024. In response, Delhi Police have intensified patrols and deployed additional forces in high-crime areas to address these trends.
