
A Nashik court has sentenced Sameer Bhalchandra Gondke to life imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000 for the 2020 murder of former Trimbakeshwar Municipal President Dhananjay Yadavrao Tungar. The killing stemmed from a financial dispute. Gondke stabbed Tungar in the neck following an argument. Evidence, including CCTV footage, medical reports, and DNA, led to the conviction despite one eyewitness turning hostile. The prosecution presented 20 witnesses during the trial.
