Gwalior Woman Sentenced to Life for Son's Death Linked to Extra-Marital Affair

In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Jyoti Rathore was sentenced to life imprisonment for causing the death of her five-year-old son by throwing him from a second-floor roof on April 28, 2023. The prosecution stated she acted to conceal an extra-marital affair after her son saw her with her neighbor, Uday Indolia. The case, initially treated as an accident, was solved within 15 days. Jyoti confessed after her husband, a police constable, gathered evidence. Uday was acquitted due to insufficient proof.
