Kenyan Woman Arrested at Chennai Airport for Smuggling Cocaine Capsules Worth 15 Crore
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested a 35-year-old Kenyan woman at Chennai International Airport for allegedly smuggling 850 grammes of high-purity cocaine worth approximately 15 crore by swallowing capsules. She arrived on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa on a tourist visa. After discrepancies in her responses, medical examination revealed about 70 capsules inside her stomach. The DRI is investigating links to an international drug trafficking syndicate and aims to identify the cocaine's intended recipient in Chennai.
