Supreme Court Grants Bail to Doctor in 2024 Pune Porsche Accident Case

The Supreme Court granted bail to Dr. Ajay Taware, former medical superintendent at Sassoon General Hospital, accused of tampering with blood samples related to a May 19, 2024, Pune Porsche accident that killed two IT professionals. The court cited parity, following bail granted earlier to three other accused, including parents of juveniles involved. The incident involved a 17-year-old driver allegedly under alcohol influence. The Bombay High Court had previously rejected bail pleas of several accused, and the Juvenile Justice Board's lenient bail for minors sparked public outrage.
