Fire at Haryana Gulal Factory Kills Four Women, Injures Dozens in Jind

A fire broke out at a 'gulal' (powdered colour) manufacturing unit in Bhaat Colony, Safidon, Jind district, Haryana, on March 6, 2026, killing four women workers and injuring 10 to 20 others. The blaze reportedly started near the factory's entry point, spreading smoke inside. Some workers jumped from the roof to escape, while police and fire teams, aided by locals, rescued trapped workers after breaking a boundary wall. Allegations suggest the main gate was locked from outside, trapping labourers. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
