The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Anant Tambedkar, a proclaimed offender in a 1992 bank fraud case involving the State Bank of Bikaner Jaipur. Tambedkar had absconded after a 1996 chargesheet and was sought for nearly 30 years. Acting on technical intelligence, the CBI located and apprehended him in Mumbai, after which he was remanded to judicial custody. His trial was separated from other accused who were convicted earlier.
