Chandigarh Police have filed a chargesheet against Panjab University professor Bharat Bhushan Goyal in connection with the 2021 murder of his wife, Seema Goyal, whose body was found strangled at their university residence on Diwali night. After nearly four years of investigation involving forensic psychological assessments, polygraph, and brain oscillation tests, the professor was arrested in December 2025. Police allege he fabricated a false story about intruders, while Goyal denies involvement, claiming he found his wife tied up after robbers fled. Court proceedings are set to begin on March 6.
