Chargesheet Filed Against Panjab University Professor in 2021 Wife's Murder Case

Chandigarh Police have filed a chargesheet against Panjab University professor Bharat Bhushan Goyal in connection with the 2021 murder of his wife, Seema Goyal, whose body was found strangled with hands and feet tied at their university residence. After nearly four years of investigation involving polygraph and brain-mapping tests, Goyal was arrested in December 2025. Police allege he misled investigators, while Goyal claimed intruders committed the crime. The case includes over 20 witnesses and remains under judicial proceedings.
