The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested five individuals, including a CGST Deputy Commissioner and two Superintendents, in Jhansi for allegedly accepting a Rs 70 lakh bribe. The officials were reportedly caught accepting the payment from a hardware businessman to settle a tax issue. Following the arrests, CBI raids recovered over Rs 1.70 crore in cash, gold, silver, and property documents from the accused's premises.
