In Assam's Cachar district, a 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly abducting and raping a four-and-a-half-year-old girl. The accused, known to the family, reportedly lured the child by promising chocolates, took her to his home, and later to a nearby tea garden where the assault occurred. The child's statement was recorded, and she underwent medical examination under the Child Welfare Committee's supervision. Police have registered cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and continue investigating.
