A three-storey plastic recycling unit in Thamarassery, Kozhikode district, Kerala, was destroyed by a major fire on Thursday morning. Firefighters took approximately three hours to extinguish the blaze. While over 80 laborers are employed at the factory, only a few were present during the incident, and no injuries were reported. A pickup van was also damaged. Some workers suggested firecrackers may have caused the fire, but officials are investigating the exact cause with expert assistance.
