A 37-year-old silambam trainer, S. Appasamy, has been arrested under the POCSO Act for allegedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. The complaint was registered after the victim contacted child helpline 1098. Appasamy, who taught silambam to children in nearby villages, was arrested by Vilathikulam All Women Police and remanded to judicial custody.
