A 34-year-old man from Navi Mumbai was allegedly defrauded of Rs 32 lakh after being promised a job as an "Export Assistant Manager" at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). The Vashi police have registered a case against Rishabh Rajesh Mhatre, a resident of Uran, for cheating and forgery under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The complainant reportedly paid the money in installments between March and December 2024, realizing he was duped when the job did not materialize. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
