Police in Aligarh have arrested Salman Qureshi in connection with the murder of AMU schoolteacher Rao Danish Hilal. Qureshi is accused of aiding brothers Zubair, Fahad, and Yasir, who are the primary suspects. Authorities allege Zubair, recently released after six years in jail for a prior murder, masterminded the plot, believing Hilal was responsible for his earlier arrest. Fahad and Yasir are accused of carrying out the shooting on December 24, allegedly to settle old scores, with Qureshi providing logistical support and helping them escape.
