
Anvesh, a Maoist divisional committee member with a Rs 22 lakh bounty, was killed on January 29 by senior Maoist leader Shukru in Odisha's Kandhamal district after planning to surrender under the state government's policy. His body was buried in the forest and later exhumed by police for post-mortem. Authorities have registered a murder case and are coordinating with Anvesh's family. Officials urge remaining Maoists to surrender and avail rehabilitation benefits.
