Anvesh, a Maoist divisional committee member with a Rs 22 lakh bounty, was killed on January 29 by senior Maoist leader Sukru in Odisha's Kandhamal district after planning to surrender to police. The body was exhumed from Tarabadi forest under legal protocols. Police registered a murder case and are coordinating with Anvesh's family. The incident highlights internal conflicts within Maoist groups over surrendering, with other involved cadres reportedly neutralised in subsequent operations.
