Chandigarh has recorded 147 cyber crime FIRs this year, the highest since 2021, with notable cases including an 81-year-old woman losing ₹95 lakh to impersonation fraud and a 71-year-old losing ₹2.87 crore to investment fraud. While the number of cyber complaints received decreased slightly from last year, the number of arrests in cyber fraud cases also reached a five-year high of 147. Digital arrest and law enforcement impersonation were the most common types of cybercrimes registered.
