A 30-year-old migrant labourer from West Bengal, identified as Juel Sheikh, was beaten to death in Sambalpur, Odisha, on Wednesday evening. While co-workers and family allege he was targeted due to suspicion of being a Bangladeshi immigrant, police state the victim and accused knew each other and deny the immigrant suspicion motive. Six individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred after an altercation at a tea stall. The victim sustained fatal head injuries, and other labourers present were also assaulted.
