CBI Arrests ECHS Medical Officer and Felix Hospital Official in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Major Ashish Shakya, a medical officer at the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) clinic in Uttar Pradesh, and Bijendra Singh, Assistant General Manager of Felix Hospital, on March 15, 2026. They are accused of conspiring to refer patients to Felix Hospital without medical necessity in exchange for bribes. During a trap operation, Rs 3 lakh was recovered, and searches in multiple locations yielded incriminating documents and digital devices. The FIR alleges Shakya demanded bribes to be shared with senior and lower-level officials.
