Two Men Sentenced to 20 Years for Sexual Assaults on Minor Girls Under POCSO Act
Two men were sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting minor girls under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. In Odisha's Gajapati district, Rajendra Jani was convicted for drugging and raping a minor in February 2026, with a fine of ₹50,000 imposed. In Andhra Pradesh's Bapatla district, Guduri Ramesh was sentenced for assaulting an eight-year-old in 2022, fined ₹10,000, and the government was directed to pay ₹4 lakh compensation to the victim.
