A newlywed man in Andhra Pradesh's Eluru district was allegedly kidnapped, tied to a pole, and assaulted by his in-laws days after marrying his long-time partner against their wishes. The couple, Sai Chand and Sai Durga, had been together for eight years and sought police protection for their wedding due to family opposition, reportedly stemming from employment differences. Police have registered a case of kidnapping and assault and are investigating, while also providing protection to the couple.
