
Sameer Gaikwad, a key accused in the 2015 murder of Communist Party of India leader Govind Pansare, died of a suspected cardiac arrest in Sangli, Maharashtra. Gaikwad, linked to the Sanatan Sanstha, was arrested in 2015 and granted bail in 2017. He had filed a pending discharge application in court. The case, involving multiple accused, was initially investigated by local police before being transferred to a Special Investigation Team and later to the Anti-Terrorism Squad due to limited progress.
