Pune Man Fined Rs 14,500 for Drunk Driving Following Wife's Police Complaint

A Pune court fined a man Rs 14,500 for driving under the influence at high speed after his wife called police fearing assault. Police constable Nilesh Beldar responded to the distress call on February 2, where the intoxicated man forcibly took his wife into his car and drove recklessly to the Baner Police Station. Following a swift investigation and chargesheet filed within a day, the court found him guilty under the Motor Vehicles Act and imposed the fine.
