
Pune Cyber Police arrested two men, Harshad Dhantole and Samarth Deshmukh, for defrauding an 82-year-old retiree of nearly Rs 11 crore using a 'digital arrest' scam. The suspects posed as CBI officers, intimidating the victim into transferring funds to multiple accounts under false legal threats. Police recovered cash and froze bank accounts linked to the fraud, which involved intimidation, fake calls, and transfers to mule accounts, some funds possibly converted to cryptocurrency.
