Cybercrime losses in Delhi have surged dramatically over the past decade, with a 190-fold increase reported. In 2025 alone, over 1,600 cases resulted in losses exceeding ₹1,271 crore. While the number of cases has remained relatively stable in recent years, the amount lost has significantly escalated, attributed to organized gangs employing tactics like digital arrests, investment, and job scams. Police are actively combating these crimes through FIR registration, account freezing, fund recovery, and public awareness campaigns on internet hygiene.
