Mumbai Police Arrest Two Women in Illegal Surrogacy and Egg Donation Racket

Mumbai police arrested two women, Sunoti Belel and Seema Vinzarat, at the international airport for allegedly running an illegal surrogacy and egg donation racket. The operation, linked to an IVF centre in Thane, reportedly supplied unmarried women as egg donors and surrogate mothers using forged documents to present them as married, violating the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021. Investigations revealed the network's involvement with fertility clinics in India and abroad, with one accused currently absconding. Further inquiries are ongoing.
